A Valentine’s Day Treat from Elizabeth Somer

BlogStories

Did you know that your brain is your body’s largest sex organ? And did you know that when it comes to antioxidants, the brighter their color the better they work?

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I caught up with registered dietitian, Elizabeth Somer, M.A., about her brand new book, “Eat Your Way to Sexy.” Somer says “You only get one body and one brain in this lifetime” and she’s on a mission to teach us how to nourish our brains to boost our mood and energy.

According to Somer, inside that body and brain there’s a “whole lot of circuitry and circulation going on. For you to feel really sultry, powerful, alive requires a fine-tuned brain that sends messages quickly and freely, a healthy heart that pumps blood efficiently and easily, and clear and elastic blood vessels that effortlessly move blood and oxygen throughout your body, from head to sex organs.” The building blocks for this well-revved system comes directly and only from your diet. So you really are what you eat!

In her book Somer gives the six guidelines of the S-Ex-y Diet which include having an Antioxidant Orgy, Feeding your #1 Sex Organ, Giving yourself some space, Getting wet and wild at least twice a week, Remembering that Six Matters and Taking the Pill. I won’t go into what each of those means…you have to get the book for that. But take it from me this is an entertaining and informative manual on how to feed your brain to get it into the best shape for a happy life.

You’ll learn about the Menage a Trois Breakfast, Quickie Snack, Twosome Lunch and how to feed those neurotransmitters which are the brain chemicals that “regulate everything from emotions, moods and memories to your likes and dislikes, opinions and sense of humor.”

Wouldn’t you like to know what herbs to throw into the stew your cooking up for dinner tonight to ignite the fire of romance? And what’s really behind this Omega-3 and all those antioxidants that everybody keeps talking about? Is it the latest fad or is there real science behind this?

If you met Elizabeth in person you’d see that she practices what she preaches. Upbeat, smart, extremely healthy in mind, body and spirit…she’s a true messenger of healthy living and her new book is an engaging guidebook.
