BlogStories

Brain World Magazine welcomes 18 year old Bosilika An as guest blogger during her trip overseas this summer when she will visit Shanti Bhavan, a prestigious boarding school in the poverty stricken state of Tamil Nadu, India. As guest speaker on July 5th, Bosilika will share the motivational story of how she, whose family is originally from Vietnam, began her international organization when she was 16 years old. She will also visit with the students and their families in nearby villages. Shanti Bhavan is a residential school providing K-12 education and financial support throughout college to poverty stricken children in India. Founded in 1997, the school’s goal is to provide a quality education so that the children will have a chance to become productive citizens of society despite who they were born to in India’s caste system.

Founder and CEO of the BASH World Organization, Bosilika An has established herself as a philanthropist, entrepreneur, socialite, and international role model. At the age of 18, she has already accomplished numerous deeds of humanitarian works that have earned her the title of Youth Ambassador for the children’s empowerment organization, In A Perfect World. With the drive and mission of “Teens Helping Teens”, in 2009 Bosilika organized the BASH, a star-studded charity drive and has since collectively raised $500,000 for the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. She has also developed a speaking series, “Saving the World in 30 Minutes” and has presented at schools such as El Rodeo in Beverly Hills and The Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria in New York motivating young adults that they have the power to make a change. In addition, she has been recognized as a notable 2011 Global Teen Leader and was selected to be the United States Representative at the ‘2011 Just Peace Summit’ by the We Are Family Foundation. Bosilika was named the first-ever PLUS Award Teen Honoree by Forgiving For Living and was honored at the “Voice Your Verse” fundraiser gala by She’s The First in New York City, April 2012. Teen Vogue, ABC, Fox News, People Magazine as well as Look to the Stars and “Girls 2 Watch” have covered Bosilika on her entrepreneurial efforts. Working as a public speaker, mentor, blogger, and now author with her upcoming book “Dreams To Goals: The Journey of a Social Entrepreneur” due to release this spring, Bosilika An has a strong and promising future ahead of her.
