Finding Empowerment and Healing With Your Subconscious Mind

What would you say if I told you that the things that keep you up at night, for example, bills and taxes, or can make your palms sweat, like public speaking, or your heart beat, perhaps that weekly telephone call with your sibling, or those nagging doubts and knee-jerk reactions are really messages coming from the subconscious that actually contain the power the heal.

We are all familiar with the iceberg image. The little tip above water (that 10 percent of mass) signifies our conscious mind, whereas the big submerged chunk, virtually 90 percent of the mass, represents our subconscious — the receptacle of memories, emotions, and automatic behavior. Most of our daily activities are controlled by the subconscious which frees up our conscious mind for other things.

That’s a good thing. I don’t want to be responsible for my breathing. What if I forget? However, what to do about those habits, beliefs and emotional thinking that have formed a pattern of behavior which hold us back and keep us from reaching our true potential?

Dr. Friedemann Schaub, a molecular biologist and physician specializing in cardiology, believes that, “it’s through conscious-subconscious collaboration that we are able to access our true potential and gain a better understanding of who we really are.” And he lays out a plan for how to make this happen in “The Fear and Anxiety Solution: A Breakthrough Process for Healing and Empowerment with Your Subconscious Mind.”

Originally from Germany, Schaub came to the United States to study molecular biology. He became fascinated with the cellular process called “apoptosis,” or programmed cell death, wherein cells decide to die to make way for other cells. He began to wonder about the consciousness behind this internal “cellular” equilibrium bringing him to explore our thoughts, emotions, and the subconscious mind.

In his book, Schaub puts forth a clear explanation of the subconscious mind and fear and anxiety from a neurobiological, intellectual, and emotional perspective wise and probing prose. You will find that when the skeptic in you rears its head with a question, the good doc has beat you to it offering up just the question you were thinking of as if to say, “I know what you’re thinking.”

Schaub thereby gains trust so that by the time he explains his process for resolving inner conflicts which he names the “reintegration process” — where you are taken through a meditation of sorts to reintegrate the negative and positive aspects of our subconscious mind — you have learned so much about ourselves, you are a ready and willing participant.

Meditation, mindfulness practices, time line therapy, and neuro-linguistic programming are all modalities, or “bridges,” as Schaub likes to say, leading us to our subconscious mind and to uncovering the root causes behind our limiting core beliefs. He combines them and others to provide a pathway for resolution. He offers CARE, a 40-day program of self-empowerment exercises meant to provide a necessary discipline for instilling the beliefs and behaviors of the “new you” onwards.

With the release of his book, Schaub is working with people worldwide through Skype and plans to offer workshops and other programs online. According to Schaub, the key to our well-being lies not in the external stresses of our life but rather that “it’s more the fear and anxiety of not being worthy enough, not deserving enough, not being good enough. If we can resolve our fear and anxiety, and really step into our potential, I think all together can make this world a better place. And that’s part of the ripple effect the book and the work will continue to have.”
